Thursday, 29 March 2007

Figures from the Internet Advertising Bureau have revealed that the search engine giant made £872m in the UK, taking it to the top of the online spending chart for 2006, according to the Guardian.

This is an increase on 2005, when the organisation spent £483 and took a 35 per cent share of the £1.36 billion in industry spending, it added. Similarly, Google dominated the paid-for search market, recording a 57.8 per cent share of the £2.016 billion invested in 2006.

Analyst Ian Maude, from research firm Enders Analysis, hailed the company's industry strategy. "Google has not just invented a better mousetrap, it's created a whole new marketing industry and is now reaping the rewards," he said.

The company today announced that they will be teaming up with LG in order to provide Google products on mobile phones.

Plenty of money in the bank for Google. It's good to see so many people embracing the opportunities online advertising offers. As long as they don't drive PPC costs to high!

I'm not surprised. Its so easy to set up a campaign online. Plus with adsese its a given.
