Merry Christmas Search !
This years bumper Christmas for online retailers was heavily driven by search engines, according to industry research experts Hitwise.
36% of visits to retail websites originated at search engines, representing a 20% growth year on year. Interestingly growth was led by Google and Yahoo!, so the aggressive marketing seen from MSN through 2006 is yet to bear any obvious fruit.
