Google endorsed search engine position checker?

Tuesday, 17 January 2006

Not yet, but in what looks like a Red flag to us SEO bulls it apppears the challenge has been set by Google to create one. Spotted about a third of the way from the bottom of the Personalized Homepage API modules developer guide:

For example, you could use this function to perform dynamic retrieval of RSS or Atom feeds and write sophisticated interfaces for viewing them. Or, you could write a module that fetches results from a search engine for a given query, and then lets you know if there is a change in the order of the top results.

H'm which search engine/engines might that be?

For loads of other cool modules check out:  http://www.googlemodules.com/

Gotta run...need to go crack the whip at our development team.
